The free plan is an ordinary account with no card and no expiry. It carries one workspace, 100 memos in it, 3,400 vectors, one seat, and 60 requests a minute. No monthly request quota applies.
Two numbers for capacity because a memo costs more than one vector. Core charges one vector per markdown section plus one for the memo itself, so a short memo costs two or three and a long one with a heading every few paragraphs can cost a dozen. In normal use the memo count is what you reach first, and the vector allowance is sized so it doesn't refuse you before then.
Embeddings come from e5-small-384, the 384 dimension model. It's multilingual

An account may keep one workspace on the free plan. Where a second one is left on free, the oldest keeps running and the newer is suspended until one of them is upgraded or the other deleted. The job that decides this runs hourly, so a second free workspace works for up to an hour before it's suspended.
That suspension reverses itself as soon as the slot frees, and a suspended workspace refuses writes rather than losing anything. Nothing is destroyed by reaching it.
The paid plans carry more memos, the larger embedding model, more seats and higher rate limits.
